Is the IB or Cambridge Curriculum Harder?

In the world of international education, two of the most popular programs are the International Baccalaureate (IB) and the Cambridge curriculum. Both offer a high-quality education that can open doors to a wide range of universities, but which one is harder? The IB curriculum is more challenging than educational councils such as CBSE and ICSE. With the IB, students must study six extra subjects, while with A levels students study three. This extra workload can lead to lower grades for some students.

However, the challenge lies in the quality of the tasks, not the amount of work assigned. The IB Diploma Program focuses on developing critical thinking, digital competencies, and psychosocial skills through its Core program. Sean Lim, professor at Quintessential Education, which offers tuition to IB students, said that IB coverage is broader but that final exams tend to be less challenging than A-levels. The IB also incorporates projects such as extended essays that help students develop their research skills. As a result, more and more private Greek schools are offering the IB. The IB is very good at teaching critical thinking, while AP is much more memorization-based.

The IB offers four different programs: PYP, MYP, IBDP, and career-related programs. Universities respect both IB and A levels as academically demanding qualifications, so it doesn't matter which one you have as long as you've studied the right subjects at the right level. The Litera Center is an established online educational project that offers expert guidance to IB and IGCSE students. With a 100% pass rate and the trust of more than 2,250 graduating students (and counting), it's no surprise that many people choose to do the IB in order to go to college. The fact that it's an international program allows countries like Greece to use it as an alternative to their national school grade without losing reputation. When considering an international education for your child, keep in mind that both the IB and Cambridge curricula have all the necessary components to provide a solid educational foundation.

IB diplomas and certificates in IB Diploma courses (certificates of achievement of DP courses) are recognized worldwide.
